Connect Your Own AI Assistant to Your Event Data (Read-Only)

What this actually is

SPION has a built-in MCP server — MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the emerging standard that lets AI assistants like Claude connect directly to a live data source instead of working from a one-off copy-paste or a stale export. Once you connect it, you can open Claude (or another MCP-compatible AI client) and ask it questions about your actual events, attendees, orders, and analytics — it queries your real SPION account on demand, in the moment you ask.

No spreadsheet exports, no pasting ticket numbers into a chat window by hand, and nothing copied anywhere permanently — each question triggers a live, scoped lookup against your own data and nothing is stored outside SPION.

Why it's read-only

This connection can only look — it cannot create, edit, cancel, or refund anything on your behalf. An AI assistant with direct access to your data is useful; one that could also take actions on it unsupervised is a very different risk profile, and we didn't think that trade was worth it for what this feature is for. If you want your AI assistant to summarize last week's ticket sales or check which tier is selling fastest, read access is all it needs.

What you can ask it

Once connected, you can ask things like:

  • "List my upcoming events and how many tickets are sold for each."
  • "Who registered for [event] in the last 24 hours?"
  • "What's my total revenue across all events this month?"
  • "Show me orders for [event] that are still unpaid."

Your assistant pulls the real answer from your account at the moment you ask — the same data you'd see in your dashboard's Attendees, Orders, and Analytics tabs, just reachable through a conversation instead of a page.

Setting it up

From your dashboard, open the AI Access tab. Click "Add Key," give it a name you'll recognize later — like "Claude Desktop" or "Work laptop" — and SPION shows you the key exactly once. Copy it immediately; you won't be able to view it again after you leave the page.

Paste that key, along with the MCP endpoint URL shown on the same page, into your AI client's MCP connection settings (Claude Desktop and claude.ai both support adding a custom MCP connector this way). Once connected, just ask your questions in plain language — there's no special syntax to learn.

You can create as many separate keys as you use devices or tools — up to 10 per account — so a lost laptop or a tool you stop using can be revoked on its own without disturbing any other connection.

Keys, revoking, and who can see what

Every key is tied to your account only — it can never see another organizer's events, attendees, or orders, no matter what it's asked. If a key is ever compromised or you simply stop using a tool, revoke it from the same AI Access tab and it stops working immediately, with no need to change anything else.

This feature is free on every SPION plan, the same as webhooks — there's no premium tier gate on connecting your own tools to your own data.

Ask your own AI assistant about your events

Generate a read-only key from your dashboard and point Claude, or any MCP-compatible assistant, straight at your own SPION data. Free, and revocable any time.
